It's almost the end of the year. Looking back, the whole year seems nothing less than a race. It's hard to define who managed whom/what. Sometimes, I was managing the time and at other times, I was simply being carried away by time. But as it is said, the more you move ahead... the more you learn. 2011 was not that great but not too bad either. I had at least my share of learning. And I believe, as long as you are learning something, nothing is wasted.
In comparison to what I was last year, I think I am better now! I completed my second year in corporate and it's easy for me to believe now that, nothing is easy... at all. The old saying "no pain, no gain" holds true all the time. I met some real good challenges for which the term "Welcome To Corporate" was coined. There were many even- odd situations which I had to overcome on my own. Tough it was indeed.. but a great time to learn! Learn how things go seriously wrong, how people around you would deal with you, how you need to handle each situation professionally and even more important than that, diplomatically. It was a series of unpleasant experiences though.. yet a lesson for whole life! But only talking about the bad experiences would be unfair. Situations keep on changing... n so were mine. My life was getting better... tensions were lessening... time was changing! I indulged myself in hosting/coordinating various fun activities in the office. That was indeed a feather being added to my personality. It helped me in creating a very different identity of mine too. Fun was again back in my life. I handled some of the tasks.. which I really enjoy doing! Work becomes relaxing... when you are actually loving what you do. In short, my life improved professionally, my skills were polished and my creativity was brushed off! I won't have been able to achieve this without the support for a few wonderful people. The major part of the credit goes to Lala Bhai for his unique ways of inspiring me. Whatever I am today, it's because of his presence around! A big thanks to the most wonderful mentors I always have... Nivedita, Tapan, Siddharth, Roopesh, Balaji, Anjani, Saravana, Vivek and Vijayalakshmi. Work would not have been enjoyable without the mention of my 'gang'... Shirish, Ashish, Shipra, Sambit, Gopi, Sreemayee, Thejas, Poonam and Nidhi. Thanks guys for all the wonderful time :) You guys always rock!!
Professional growth always adds to the personal growth too. As I reach towards the end of this year, I can say that I am happy! Personally, I know I am growing! With time, there is a constant improvement in the maturity level of my mind. My mind does not loiter around much as it used to happen. I have learned on how to keep myself focused. Yes, I know I still have loads to learn and implement yet the start is not bad. I now understand the high aims behind my most cherished dreams and I am so keen to fulfill them. They have become so much important to me now that I just can't leave them aside! Also, I now trust my abilities that I can make them come true... so the fear of failure is not there anymore.
My personal and professional life, though a mixture of ups n downs... won't have been so important to me if I won't have the right people around me. My dreams, my hopes, my success, my failures won't have their true essence.. if my people won't have been around me. I have such a beautiful family... encouraging parents, inspiring brothers and sisters and very loving kids! It's more or less a dream family. I know I am never alone when such amazing persons are with me. I am sure, I won't be lost... for they won't let that happen with me. I am blessed to have them with me. They are my real strength. I am glad this family is day by day growing and so is our bonding. Hope this bonding of love, care and share continues forever!
This journey of life would not have been so fulfilling and easy without my 'duffer' yet 'wonderful' friends! They are always there to push me or pull me as and when required. I am always my own self when I am with them. They are my instant support system. I look up to them when am down, afraid or lost. They make my life more colorful. My tribute to them won't be complete unless I name them here. So here's a big thanks to Reshma, Amit, Yuvraj, Ujjaval, Somesh, Sourav, Suman, Shiv, Lisha, Ajit, Arun, Apu, Pogo, Vikram, Vipin and Ritesh. The list does not ends here.. but it would be an injustice if I specifically don't mention these names here! You guys are just wonderful! I can't imagine how boring would have been my life without you people around!
Like every other year, 2011 is remarkable too. Hope the days ahead are equally beautiful with these wonderful people!
Bye 2011... You have been great! But I have to move on... so that I can always look back at you and cherish how amazing you had been! You will be added as one more chapter in my life... as I move on, writing more chapters for my book :)
At some point, you have to realize that some people can only stay in your heart... not in your life!!
