Event of a Day... Memory of Lifetime.. !!

4th Nov' 07... Sunday was the most memorable day in our life till now in JITM. All the branches were going on Picnic to various places. Ours was a bit different as we did not even expect that our branch would also go for a picnic... keeping in view the past days, the misunderstandings between the boys and girls of 5th Sem IT Dept... our branch !!! Although initially we were not at all interested for that but later we all agreed with the hope that this might bring some changes in the tension prevailing in our minds.

Palasa beach was selected as our picnic spot, a place where water is very deep and current level is high (we were quite aware of that before). All the branchmates assembled at a place waiting for the bus to come. We had hired the OSRTC High Tech bus which halts here in our campus. For the first time, we were going for a picnic organised officially. Our trip included students, four faculties, one cook, driver, conductor and helper of the bus.

We started at around 8:00 AM. The atmosphere inside the bus was much better than we had really expected. We played Antakshari which was quite exciting and enjoyable. We reached there at around 11:00 AM and then started looking for a place where we can put our things and have the feast. A place inside the jungle was selected and that was cool. We were all settled and the then started preparing for the feast. There was a birthday boy amongst us... Pravat and so his birthday was celebrated there. Perhaps the luckiest boy on whose birthday girls and faculties were also present. We chopped the vegetables... onions, chillis, mushrooms and then finally paneer and after finishing, went to the beach to have the beach-fun. Lisa, Bandita and Prachi were already drenched. We all joined them. The sea-bath was fun. Waves were rushing towards us in a very high speed... instilling in us the liking towards it !!!

Had a great time there. Made some new friends and that was a wonderful experience. After the sea fun, had a nice feast and then a photo session took place. All were very happy. We had forgotten all the conflicts we had... and that feeling was great !!!

After finishing all the works there, we prepared for our return trip. Again on the way, we played Antakshari. The trip was ultimately a success. That was an event of a day but its memories are for lifetime...

A thing of beauty is a joy forever !!!

Fun Life ! ! !

Many a times, we have heard that student life is the best of all... and accepting that fact I would like to share some of my experiences here. I came to this place on 27th August' 05 and since then this has become my world... a mini world !!!

First few days were like hell here... seeing people from all over the nation, having different cultures and all of them striving hard to cope with the system. The fear of being ragged was also in height (thank God... I never faced this). I still remember how my batchmates were called by the seniors according to the color of their dresses. Me and Reshma were lucky in this matter for not being called. Shatavisha was the greatest victim of this. Slowly the days passed on... and we started knowing each other and soon all were found in various groups.

We were quite serious in attending classes and also immitating others. Soon songs were formed relating various faculties and students. It is my pleasure to say that Shatavisha and Annie were the pioneers in this and rest all took the role of either supporters or audience. It is so funny to remember even today. Now we can understand why our seniors were surprised to see us studying like anything in the 1st year, particularly the 1st sem. This tradition keeps on going...

We used to have 100% attendance and bunking classes was like a celebration time for us. Ofcourse this has been quite common now a days. Before studies were regular but they have become optional now. The most funny time we have had was during our study hours. After the days work, we would simply lie down with a book in hand and looking at the doors with of the hope of expecting the faculty on duty. Sometimes we would be caught red handed of not studying in the study hour !!!

Even more funnier were the class hours... especially the time when we were bored of the regular classes. We would rely mainly on chocolates and amul packets. Eating those stealthily and also sharing them among friends added charm to this act of ours. Lab classes and vivas are still a memorable moment for us... Me and Reshma !!! We would do nothing in our workshop labs... but would always get the full marks. Boys were always there to help us. Not only workshops, Engineering Drawing classes... disturbances caused by us... counts in the list of our naughtiest deeds. We used to have only one set of instruments and nearly four persons would be using those. Copying the drawings... fighting for instruments were some of the main features of our ED classes. Forgetting not... our English labs, we really had a great time there. The boring and sleepy classes... aah just can't forget how the days used to be. While coming back from class, especially the lab classes... we would pick the raw mangoes from the trees all our way and too without anyone's notice. Eating those with salt and chilli powder was not less than a marvellous treat. It has its own charm !!!

Outing in groups... for picnics, for lunch, to celebrate birthdays, to avoid boredom... etc are quite common here. They add flavor to the lifestyle here and help in bringing some change in our tedious system. Celebration of festivals also form an integral part of our life. Diwali's light enriches our lives and make it more brighter and holi always ends up with flying colors. Birthday celebrations, valentine's day, friendship days made us feel the true sense of "Masti ki Pathsala" !!!

Being away from home was like a punishment. We had a countdown where we used to count how many days were left for us to go back home. According to the rule, it had to be counted from 12 o'clock in the midnight. Initially we did it at 12... then at 11:50 and finally it was done at 11:30 itself. When the most awaited day would come, all of us would be in a different mood... mood of not going away from each other !!!

Let it be studies or entertainment, fun was mandatory.Reading aloud so that all would listen, group studies, late night preparations, sharing of the same book according to the scheduled time... are some features of a hostel before exams. Moreover, searching for food items when hungry especially in the night. Then "Maggi" would come for aid. Preparation of Maggi using a small immersion heater is another big time experiment in the hostel life.

Not only Maggi... all that we do are in itself significant. Applying Mehndi in palms... preparing for photo sessions... going out for lunch or picnic... all are memorable in their own way. The memories of Gotta barage are still afresh in my mind... where all of us went. Had a great time there... the snaps still make us laugh. Then watching movies, playing games... antakshari or word game, mock interviews, quiz sessions are some more events adding colors to our life here.

Not only fun... we have learnt how to be independent, self reliable as here we are our own boss... we have to take care of everything that is ours. Let it be washing clothes or getting it ironed, keeping things in order or cleaning the room, taking care of all valuables including money or buying essential items... we have to do all those of our own. Apart from this, helping others, taking their care are also included as a part of our social and moral responsibility. In short, one can have the real taste of life here. So why should not one say that this is the golden era in one's life ???

A true friend always thinks of you, when all others are thinking of themselves !!!

Miss You Friends . . .

"Friends are like stars ... you can't see them all the time but they are always there"

Friendship is the only cement that holds the world together and am so lucky to have such nice friends... who are with me all the way, making my life more smoother and the world a happier place to live in !!!

So far I have been able to strive forward... after all ups and downs because of the mutual and moral support of the following friends:

SASMITA:- My first friend and probably the best of all. We are friends since kinder garten classes and our friendship continues till today and will always flow forever...touchwood !!! She's been with me in all my good and bad times and we share very special moments too. More or less, a member of my family. Now in Gwalior... though far from me... yet always with me !!!

ARVIND:-
Ha ha ha... ohhh....that's not me. That's him... a cartoon but a very sensible and trustworthy friend. Reliable, caring, supportive, cool, etc are some of the adjectives to describe this personality. A shyful guy... always waiting for others to start and once you talk with him...you will never know, where you will be carried away. An all time hit chap who can make you laugh... laugh and laugh !!!

NAREN:-
A nice and caring friend... intelligent one, cool and possesses all the qualities that a friend should have. Had very nice time with him... in school and tuitions. A talented person with many other admirable qualities, which make him more precious !!!

RESHMA:-Hmmm.....aaahhh....ummm......ohhh...it's too hard to write anything about her. May be I can face short of words to describe her or simply write about her. She is good in all fields... a good student, a good friend and above all a very nice and simple person. My all time hit advisor and mentor whose decisions I always like. She knows me through all odds and evens and I always strive forward because of her mutual support. She is always there for me, since Sec-F. I trust her more than I can really do and she is been so close that I even fear with the thought of going away from her. Probably my best friend !!!

SHATAVISHA:-Now... this is another cartoon, my free entertainer. Very good but at times moody... mood drives her away (beware of that ). Cool, friendly and a sweet girl... possesses a very good sense of humour, so no point of being bored when she is around with you ... and am lucky to have her as my room mate !!!

SHASWATEE:-My second room mate... a caring person, who takes every care of mine whenever am ill. Always busy in her world, a studious girl and also a good comapny to be with. Simple girl... at times behaving childish... and the innocent smile that she carries, suits her well !!!

POOJA:-What to say about this girl ??? Sweet, simple, sober, beautiful, etc are some words to describe her. May be because of all these, she is the apple of everyone's eye... all boys and girls !!!

ANNIE:-This girl... the Queen of her branch... being the only girl, is also moody like her best friend (Shatavisha). Nice, sober and an intelligent girl !!!

MANITA:-How our friendship started is an awesome story... but no matter how it started... it's going on well and hope that this continues forever. This friend of mine holds an equivalent place as that of Reshma but no comparison between them... they are specialized in their fields. A free-frank, straight forward girl full of attitude which makes her different from others. A scholar student and probably one of those persons whom I would like to be with me forever !!!

LISA:-Friendship here has just started and will go on... because we both are more or less of same type... having similarities in many aspects, which is probably known to others too. Full of fun, entertaining, trustworthy, daring, smart and a very nice friend whom I will ever cherish !!!

AADI :-Aaah..well..my friendship with this boy is new, around 8 months have passed. Yet as much as I know this person, he's very good at heart. Smart, cute, handsome, cool, caring, loving and friendliness in nature are some of the qualities which makes this person special. Intelligent enough and possesses a very good sense of humor. His voice also suits him. A perfect mixture of style and attitude which adds to his personality. He can easily make you smile and with him time flies very fast. He has been a very good support of mine, instilling in me the confidence to move ahead. I still remember, how he had helped me during my sems. Even we have many a things in common... just a reason for which he's been a very special friend of mine. Hope this friendship flows forever..!!

VICKY :-Hmm...writing about this person is another though task. Cool, intelligent, understanding, caring, supportive, etc are the words to describe him. He has seen me through all my good and bad times and each time he has boosted me more and more. Even our friendship has to go through various odds but each time it is being more polished, more refined. A reliable and trustworthy person... whose comapny I always look forward for. Yesss..... very moody. He is what his mood is... but always good to me. Probably a very nice friend of mine !!!

RAKS :-This guy is full of fun... but sensible when he is serious. A person who instills my confidence when I lose all my hopes. Helps me in striving forward and always inspiring me to be happy, no matter what be the matter. Possesses an unbeliveable sense of humour and is an eversmiling chap... who is difficult to forget !!!

TUSHAR :-This boy is undoubtedly a cartoon. Always waits for the chance to make fun... which they say "game karna" !! Always cool... making me shocked when I saw him being serious for the first time. A friend who makes time go easy !!!

ARUN :-Cool, friendly and a bit mysterious. Not able to understand him yet but hope to do so in future. One thing I like about him... his tension free attitude !!!

AJIT :-This guy... I was late in meeting him...but he is equally good. Humourous, cool, intelligent and a friendly chap... whose comapny is enjoyable !!!

AMIT :-An intelligent guy... friendly, straight forward and always good at his decisions. Supports me morally and is a patient listener. A very good friend of mine... even though we are professionals in our work. A friend who makes me realize what I am !!!

RIYAZ :-This is the name given by me to this boy who is handsome, humourous, cool. Music is his life and he is a free entertainer of mine. Caring... whose advises are always welcomed. Makes me happy when am upset or depressed. I lose no point in making fun with him. This friendship is quite new but am sure this will last forever !!!

KAUSHAL :- One of my two newest friends... seems serious, cool and friendly and many things are yet to know about this guy. But in short, a nice person and a wonderful friend (I have seen him to bear all my comments, without saying a word !!) Hope to have an everlasting friendship with him.

SHIV :- The second one of my new friends. Another cartoon. Talked to him first during the branch picnic. For the first time, I... infact we (Me and Reshma) could realise that he too is a fun-loving person. I really missed to capture his smile (as he said). Anyways, again... hope to have an everlasting friendship here too !!!

CHIRANJEEV :-Good guy but at times, he confuses me. He has been a friend since Sec-F and this has grown by the time. Cool, friendly and an enjoyable company one would always look forward to have !!!

The above mentioned are my friends who made my life a gifted one. A few lines for these friends of mine :

Someone who doesn't compete with you
Someone who is genuinely happy for you
Someone who tries to cheer you up when things go wrong
Someone who supports you at all times
The only person who is concerned with everything you have done and everything you do
Is a true friend of you

Thanks for being my friend...

Celebration Time !!!

Ahhh... again am ready with ideas for a new post... though after a long time. Starting from Raksha Bandhan, the two months August and September are quite enjoyable. The occasions for one day have left memories for life time.

28 August' 07 was Raksha Bandhan... the festival of Brothers and Sisters. It is my good luck perhaps that I have got a cousin of mine here and this is for the 2nd time... I tied Rakhi to my brother. Apart from my cousin, my college has given me two more brothers whom I consider no less than that of my own. So I tied Rakhi to them too.

The next auspicious occasion was the Teachers' Day... 05 September' 07. I wished all the people in my life whom I really admire and respect as a teacher or even more than that. The day started with wishing Ma and Papa... the first teachers in my life. Then comes the turn of my teachers, both here and in Puri. This occasion, as we all know as the birthday of Dr S Radhakrishnan, is such which shows the high values and regards a student is having for his teacher... who is the builder of the future of a nation !!!

Then comes 15 September' 07... the Engineers' Day !!! This day is to mark the birthday of Dr Visheswaraya, the famous engineer of India. Also Neets birthday was there... so wished her too and also waiting for a very sweet treat !!!

Ganesh Chaturthi, a festival of great pomp and show, is to celebrate the birth occasion of Mangalkarta, Bighnaharta Shree Ganesha !!! The day started well and after many days, we were able to go to the ARTRC, our AID site here. The developments there were quite appreciable. Had a great time there with all my friends. The day went off well and was a bit special too !!!

17 September' 07... Vishwakarma Puja, is celebrated for Lord Vishwakarma, the Divine Engineer !!! Could not go home although work load was a bit lessened. The three branches here Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation... celebrated the festival and the decoration was quite remarkable and the prasad... very tasty too !!! Being invited by all the branches, visiting them was another good experience I had in the past days. Everyone was in a festive mood, far from all the tensions and the burden of the courses here.

Not only festivals and days to remember, there are some important dates here too. 20 September' 07... Ajit's birthday and yesterday, that is 24 September' 07 was Tushar's birthday. 29 September' 07 is Niva's birthday. These dates are as important to me as the people themselves... because friends are for ever. Only some few lines dedicated to these friends here:
Baar baar din ye aaye...
Baar baar dil ye gaaye...
Tum jiyo hazaron saal...
Bas yehi hai aarzoo...
Happy B'day To You... Happy B'day To You...
Happy B'day To You All... Happy B'day To You...

Another event that took place was the T20 Cricket match final between India and Pakistan... the most awaited one which filled everyones' heart with anxiety and tension. Breaking all the tensions, Team India gave a tremendous performance and brought the trophy to India... making Dhoni the 3rd most successful Captain for the Team India, next to Kapil Dev... the Haryana Hurricane and Saurav Ganguly... the Royal Bengal Tiger !!! The match was a success and also our efforts to watch it. Hope this continues and bring glory to our country India !!!

Brothers . . .

God made a brother out of love...
And gave him special ways of adding...
fun and happiness to ordinary days
God gave him lots of charm and wit,
a sense of humour too...
That's why there is something...
so unique in things that brothers do !!!
And brothers are special part of memories...
from the past...
And things you have shared in childhood...
are cherished and will last
For a brother is a person on whom...
you can depend
And when God made brother...
he made a special friend !!!

Weekend ! ! !

Weekend days are the most awaited days in one's life... full of fun & entertainment !!! Tired after the week's work, this is the time when one is free... can spend time on other activities... can emphasize more on hobbies and all. So we all keep waiting for the Saturday... our most special movie night !!!

Saturday was really enjoyable... as we had a very nice movie... "Chakde India". My favorite actor Shah Rukh Khan, the star of this movie, is seen in the role of a mentor... the Coach of the Indian Women Hockey Team... preparing them for the World Cup. The acting was quite dynamic... and the movie was worth enjoying. The learning process... the game... everything was marvellous !!! Hockey being the National Sport of India, is somewhat hidden and this movie can now be instrumental in creating some interest among the Indians for this game.

Now for Sunday... I am planning to watch "Guru"... another hit movie... another nice star... Abhisekh Bachchan. These movies are worth watching... they instill confidence and provide unseen motivation.

This enjoyment is upto the evening. After that, back to work... prepare for Monday morning... the most dreaded one !!! But as usual... hope for the best and prepare for the worst...

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies. Succeed anyway...

Reflection Of Past Few Days . . .

After many days, finally I got the time to publish a new post. It has been nearly a month, I have last entered a blog. So probably many things are yet to be mentioned.

27th July... Babul's birthday... a really enjoyable moment... with all my friends... with two special persons... Niki & Jenny. Got selected to face the interview of the Sun Micros for the Brand Ambassador of Sun & the interview was a wonderful experience... which instilled some confidence and also helped in identifying the weak areas. Celebrated the 60th Independence Day of India...enjoyed the dance evening "Trance" !!! Meantime, saw some harsh realities of life... but I believe in facing everything that comes in the way. This was the only thing which gave me an inner strength to overcome all the difficulties. Got the chance to meet Dr Himanshu Mohanty, the Regional Director of DAV Institutions in Orissa, West Bengal & Sikkim. Meeting Mukti Sir was also a pleasure. They are just the perfect persons who can be set as icons for others !!! Apart from all the fun & entertainment... one important thing which also passed in this gap was the 1st Mid Sem of the 5th Semester. The entire three days... seemed like 3 years... going through the lessons, revising them, clearing doubts... & finally appearing the exam. Thank God... that was satisfying atleast !!!

Now I have wrapped everything in a single paragraph here... and that is writing !!! Many a times, people think that I am a good writer but believe me... I have never felt this. I love writing and I write what I feel... and if it turns out to be a good writing, then that is a different thing and I feel like improving it more and more !!!

Challenges are what make life interesting; Overcoming them is what makes life meaningful !!!

Back To Reality ! ! !

Once again, I am back in my hostel... and the same life continues. The days at home were nice... although I did nothing except eating, sleeping and watching TV. Meeting some of my family members was also enjoyable. The most wonderful experience was seeing the old friends (Narendra & Arvind) once again... the memories were refreshed. The days went on quite smoothly. The tasty dishes prepared by Papa were also relishing and I enjoyed eating all those.
Time went on fast. Visited village... the most beautiful place for me on this earth !!! Though I stayed for 5-6 days but now I am having the memories for years together. The only thing I am feeling bad about is, this time I am going to miss the world famous Ratha Yatra of Puri... perhaps for the first time.

The days were like a dream and back in hostel is the reality. Now I want to face this reality with 100 per cent efforts, so that I wont have any complains later !!!

Call From Home . . .

The most awaited day in my life has come... yesss... am going home !!! After so many days, I will meet my family, my brothers and sisters. Moreover I will go to my village... the most beautiful place for me on the whole earth. The thought of village only fills my mind with all those sweet memories which I always cherish.

All that starts well, ends up well... let's see... if this comes true or not as my day started well. It started from wishing PM for her 1st Marriage Anniversary. She was very happy indeed which made me happy too. Now some hours more and then I will be on my way to my home town and my village.

Back To Pavilion ! ! !

Finally, I am back in my hostel... to my regular life. Though I am in my hostel but still I have my breakfast, lunch and dinner in Kuna Bhai's home. This is really cool. Stay in the place where you like and have the food which you like.

The weather is in its best mode... quite cool and most of the time raining. This place is blessed with all the natural beauties. The sky... filled with clouds, the high mountains, the greenery all around, the cool breeze... everything seems as if it is a dream. Sometimes the whole environment becomes hazy and the mountains seem like touching the sky. I just feel like caputring every moment and keep those with me forever. Outing with friends in this condition is enjoyable. I have been lucky enough to experience this. Though it is different that I have caught cold. Who cares !!! This time won't come back... and why not to enjoy what comes on way !!!

Strong tea, coffee, hot chips, music, movies, a comfortable group and a cool weather... a combination of all these can make a day quite memorable. These things happen to be the most important things in life... whose memories will be cherished forever...

Boring Days . . .

I am finally back in Paralakhemundi, my work place. The college is almost empty...only staff and faculties are seen. My days are here going in a monotonous way. I have got nothing to do...no gossip, no fun, no friends even.

My life style is now fixed till I am shifted to my hostel, my own room. Get up in the morning...finish up works...sit down to study...watch the idiot box...have lunch...be busy with system...again sit down to study...then dinner...net browsing...and finally sleep. Oh God !!! How I wish, I were in my home enjoying holidays as my friends are doing now. The most horrible part is each time I am out, I come across one or two faculties and I have to answer all their dreaded questions. I just hope to see my friends soon so that I can go back to my hostel...my world !!!
